Care Attendant

Are you a caring and compassionate person?

Do you like to spend quality time helping people and getting to know them?

We are looking for suitable people to join us to work as Care Attendants in our team throughout South Ayrshire.

Crossroads (South Ayrshire) Care Attendant Scheme is a local Charity established in 1985 to support carers in South Ayrshire by enabling them to have a few hours of respite regularly.

The work involves caring for clients in their homes or on short local outings so that their regular carer can have a few hours break. This break will normally take place at the same time every week, to provide continuity for the families we support. Minimum visit time is 2 hours, but is often longer, to enable carer to get a realistic break. This also allows staff to spend time with each client, and build up strong supportive connections.

Applicants must be flexible and reliable, with good communication skills and a real interest in helping people, and  evidence of previous experience in caring is important.

SVQ 2 level 2 in Health & Social Care is required for this post, therefore if this is not already held, a commitment to undertake this is essential for employment.

Applicants preferably will have their own transport.

Appointment to post is subject to PVG and SSSC checks.

We currently offer rate of pay £10.90 per hour, excess travel expenses within South Ayrshire, and 5.6 weeks annual leave.

We also are able to accept people who are interested in working on a voluntary basis.  A pension scheme is available.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer.

If you are interested and available and can be flexible regarding availability, please contact the Manager, Crossroads (South Ayrshire) by phoning on 01292 671331, to request an Application Form.
